The Online Citizen – The safe haven for (former) Worker Party cadres

The Online Citizen (TOC) rose to stardom in early 2011 after she was gazetted as a political association by the PAP Government. I say the PAP Government has foresight as TOC recently became a shelter for former Worker’s Party cadres such as Goh Meng Seng and Eric Tan:

  • Goh Meng Seng
The former Workers Party A-team candidate and former Secretary-General of National Solidarity Party Secretary General has joined the famous TOC  as head of Chinese-section to bash PAP and Singapore’s former Supreme Leeder Lee Kuan Yew in the cyberspace.
  • Eric Tan
Former WP CEC member & party treasurer, and candidate for East Coast GRC Eric Tan felt betrayed after WP CEC decided he was not worthy of the NCMP seat, thus deprived him to be the voice of the people. Eric Tan subsequently contributed articles to TOC.

Nothing much can be said about Eric Tan as he is a WP veteran who has devoted himself to WP. The same cannot be said for Goh Meng Seng who party hops. Some google magic  for Goh Meng Seng  revealed netizen’s presumably lack of confidence in him, some even go on to say he will lead to TOC’s downfall. However, Goh Meng Seng seems to be well-respected in Sammyboy forums and he is more than happy to be a mere political observer. Perhaps he understands the Chinese saying “当局者迷,旁观着清”.

TOC has become a safe haven and gathering point for failed politicians. I wonder which politician will join TOC next.

  2. Goh Meng Seng is a spineless weasel who has no substance. You see his performance in Ge2011 you know his standards, I don’t know who is lower – Kenneth Jeyaretnam or Goh Meng Seng. TOC is dumb to rope him in. TOC standard is on the decline.

  3. TOC is still down. Maybe the competent Goh Meng Seng disconnected the power supply of TOC’s server accidentally.

  4. haha
